Kamchatka's climate is decidedly continental; cool winters, warm summers. Summer and autumn months are by far the most popular (June-October) when max temperatures range from 15C to 30C.

Russian food is quite varied in terms of options. Kamchatka, in particular, has abundant and fresh seafood options. You can also choose between exotic local arctic blueberries, brownberries, cowberries and honeysuckle berries. Although food in this region is a meat lover’s delight, pure vegetarian food can also be taken care of on prior information. Weather can change quite rapidly in Kamchatka. Hence, it’s important to be prepared with all season clothing and equipment. Please avoid bright and flashy clothing and strong perfumes/deodorant so that you don’t attract any unwanted wildlife.

The most straightforward way to access Kamchatka is via Moscow. Aeroflot and Rossiya Airlines fly direct, non-stop daily from Moscow to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Please carry some easy to access medicine on the trip, for headaches, diarrhea, constipation, and some re-hydration. powders like Electral etc.
Internet may not be reliable at all times as breakdowns take time to fix as Kamchatka is extremely remote.
Bank machines are available in Petropavlovsk where you may withdraw money from your credit or debit cards. Most banks are unfamiliar with Travelers Cheques and therefore cashing them is not very straightforward. In any case you should have always have some cash on hand in US Dollars or EURO when you come to this part of the country.
