South America
From the Amazon to Patagonia
From High Andean treks to refined rail journeys
Decades in
the Wild

Our Founder
Built on Experience
We’ve been crafting complex, wilderness-led journeys for years, from polar regions to remote landscapes worldwide. South America demands that same depth of planning: altitude shifts, vast distances, weather extremes, and cultural nuance.
Rohan brings extensive expedition planning expertise, specialising in remote regions and logistically complex itineraries, from high Andean routes to Patagonia’s unpredictable terrain.
As a team, we’ve spent months across the continent: in the Amazon, the Andes, and deep in Patagonia, understanding not just where to go but how to travel through it responsibly.

SOUTH AMERICA
DESTINATIONS
Brazil
Wild in scale and rhythm. The Amazon breathes in the north, the Pantanal teems with wildlife, and Rio rises between mountain and sea. Brazil is biodiversity and culture in full expression.
Peru
Ancient civilisations layered over dramatic Andean landscapes. Sacred valleys, high passes, living traditions, and Machu Picchu rising from cloud forest. Peru is where history, altitude, and culture intersect powerfully.
For those who want to move through the landscape, the Salkantay Trek offers a high-altitude, immersive route to Machu Picchu. Prefer a slower, refined approach? The Belmond Hiram Bingham train journey delivers a panoramic, elegant arrival through the Andes.
Chile
A country of extremes. Atacama’s lunar desert. Patagonia’s wind-carved peaks. Glaciers, fjords, and long stretches of silence. Chile feels elemental, stretched between mountain and ocean.
Argentina
Vast and varied. From Patagonian ice fields to Mendoza’s vineyards and Buenos Aires’ unmistakable pulse. Argentina moves between wilderness and refinement with ease.
Colombia
Lush coffee regions, Caribbean coastlines, colonial towns, and a creative energy reshaping its future. Colombia is colour, culture, and contrast.
Ecuador
Compact but powerful. Andes rising sharply above cloud forests, Amazon tributaries threading through jungle, biodiversity in remarkable density. Ecuador offers scale in concentrated form.
Bolivia
High-altitude drama. Salt flats that mirror the sky, mineral-rich lagoons, stark Andean plateaus. Bolivia feels raw, surreal, and deeply rooted in indigenous heritage.

THE AMAZON: The World’s Living System
We operate across the Amazon basin in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia combining river expeditions, conservation-led lodges, and guided rainforest immersion.
You can expect early morning river safaris, guided forest walks, indigenous cultural insights and extraordinary biodiversity
The Amazon is powerful in its quiet continuity.

PATAGONIA:
Raw & Expansive
Spanning Chile and Argentina, Patagonia reshapes your sense of scale.
Granite towers. Wind-carved landscapes. Glaciers that calve into still waters.
We design journeys that include guided treks in Torres del Paine, estancia stays, glacier exploration.
This is wilderness in its most cinematic form.

MACHU PICCHU:
The Lost City in the Clouds
High in the Peruvian Andes, Machu Picchu rises from a landscape of mist, terraces, and jagged peaks, one of the most remarkable archaeological sites on Earth.
The journey there shapes the experience. Some arrive after days of trekking through remote Andean passes on the Salkantay route, while others travel in quiet elegance aboard the Belmond Hiram Bingham, winding through the Sacred Valley by rail.
However you arrive, the moment the citadel reveals itself above the clouds is unforgettable. A meeting point of history, landscape and enduring mystery.

Pantanal:
Wildlife in the Open
Vast wetlands stretching across Brazil, the Pantanal is one of the best places in the world to observe wildlife in its natural rhythm. Unlike the dense Amazon rainforest, the open landscapes here make sightings remarkably close and frequent.Spanning Chile and Argentina, Patagonia reshapes your sense of scale.
Jaguars move along riverbanks. Capybaras gather in the shallows. Giant otters, caimans, and hundreds of bird species thrive in this living ecosystem.
Exploring the Pantanal means slow days on river safaris, guided walks, and time spent in remote lodges where nature unfolds quietly but powerfully.

PLAN YOUR SOUTH AMERICA JOURNEY
Travel Basics
When is the best time to visit South America?
It depends on the region.
Patagonia (Chile & Argentina): October to March
Peru & Andes: May to September (dry season)
Amazon (Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia): Year-round, with seasonal water-level variations
Bolivia (Uyuni): May to October for dry salt flats; Jan to March for mirror effect
We guide you based on your preferred experiences.
How is the altitude of the region?
Some destinations such as Cusco, La Paz, and parts of the Andes are above 2,500m. We plan gradual acclimatisation and pace itineraries accordingly. Most travellers adjust well with proper planning.
Are these trips physically demanding?
South America offers both active and relaxed journeys. Trekking routes (like Salkantay) require good fitness, while train journeys, Amazon cruises, and lodge-based stays are more moderate. We customise based on your comfort level.
How safe is travel in South America?
With experienced local partners, guided transfers, and thoughtful planning, travel across our destinations is smooth and secure. We operate only in regions and with partners we trust.
How long should I plan for a South America trip?
Given the vast distances, we recommend:
- 5–10 days for one country
- 14–21+ days for multi-country journeys
Slow travel works best here.
Are Amazon trips comfortable?
Yes. We use well-established eco-lodges and river vessels that combine comfort with responsible operations. Expect immersive wilderness without compromising on safety or guidance.
Do I need visas?
Visa requirements vary by nationality and country. Many South American destinations are visa-free if you have a valid US visa. Or visa-on-arrival access for several passports. We provide guidance according to where you want to go.
What vaccinations are required?
Some Amazon regions may require or recommend Yellow Fever vaccination. We advise travellers to consult their doctor 6–8 weeks before departure.
Can trips be customised?
Yes. All South America journeys can be tailored whether you prefer private guides, specific lodges, trekking-focused routes, or cultural immersion.
Is travel insurance mandatory?
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical evacuation is strongly recommended, particularly for remote or high-altitude regions.
Can multiple countries be combined?
Yes. Many journeys combine Peru + Bolivia, Chile + Argentina, or Amazon extensions.
